Womens Natural Building and Carpentry Workshop

June 4th - 12th 2025

@ SoLua, Portugal

Back by popular demand, we invite you to a unique 9-day women-only natural building and carpentry workshop on the beautiful land of SoLua in Alentejo, Portugal. This transformative experience, guided by the skilled builders of the Women’s Natural Building Collective (WNBC), combines ancient techniques and modern practices through which you will gain a deep understanding, and hands-on experience of the art of Natural Building.

All the while celebrating the feminine - in a safe, supportive environment.

Why Women Only?

We have nothing against our fellow brothers—we enjoy working and collaborating alongside them often, and we also run mixed-gender courses.

However over the years, we have noticed how women respond differently on a site when men are present, especially when power tools and machines are introduced.

By creating a women-only space, we aim to eliminate these dynamics, providing a safe and supportive environment where women feel free to experiment, learn, and grow.

When women gather with intention, shared goals, and a connection to the earth, the results are extraordinary and magical.

Our workshops are more than just about building—they are a celebration of the goddess within us all.

What You’ll Learn

This hands-on workshop focuses on building an outdoor kitchen from start to finish, using a variety of natural building methods and techniques. You’ll gain practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and the confidence to carry these practices into your own life.

Practical Skills

Making adobe bricks

Laying foundations and constructing walls, roofs, and floors

Mixing and applying cob, slip straw, and natural plasters

Working safely with power tools

Building a reciprocal roof structure

Beyond Building: Celebrating the Feminine

This workshop is as much about self-discovery as it is about natural building. Alongside the practical skills, we’ll explore our shared feminine energy through optional morning and evening activities, including:

Women’s circles and meditations

Dance, singing, and movement practices

Sauna, hot tub nights, and evenings by the firepit

It’s a time to laugh, share, reflect, and celebrate everything we are and can be.

About the Women’s Natural Building Collective (WNBC)

The WNBC is a group of passionate, experienced women builders based in Southern Portugal. We design and construct unique, natural structures while empowering other women with the skills to build their own homes. Together, we honor the feminine, respect the earth, and strive to create a more balanced, sustainable future.

About SoLua

We will be staying at Solua (https://www.luna-solua.com/), a beautiful homestead surrounded by the rolling hills and wild nature of Alentejo, Portugal.

Solua founders Tamir and Luna said;

We are a family of four, arrived in Portugal in July 2015 on a journey exploring our core belief system, consciously creating our daily reality in tune with our vision: to live a sustainable life of trust, in contact with ourselves and others.

SoLua was born in Alentejo, Southern Portugal, to cultivate a platform, a safe haven that facilitates and enables the experience of transformation and freedom, authenticity, and creativity.

SoLua Vision

For us, the experience of The Oneness of life is embodied in containing the paradox of life, both shadows and lights, the divine and the human, the masculine and feminine, the sun and the moon = SoLua.

We wish to create an ever-changing space for exploration, growth and connection, human to human, human to nature, and human to life itself. A place that allows us to grow, play, change, evolve, explore our core beliefs, studying ourselves and life itself together with a lot of fun.

We wish to give back to life, to support it via a sustainable approach to living, both physically and spiritually, and add our energy to the joined pool of energy of those who strive to make this world more harmonious, and the human species a kinder species.

We wish to share our journey with like-minded people who care about nurturing their inner passions, and experiencing life to its fullest.

Accommodation & Food

We’ll create a cozy base camp during the workshop, and you’re invited to bring your own camping equipment or camper van. If camping isn’t an option for you, let us know, and we’ll discuss alternatives.

Meals will be fresh, local, vegetarian, with vegan options always available. Prepared by our experienced chef, each meal will nourish your body and soul. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary needs in advance.
