Workshops at Azula
In 8 days we can create a solid structure, with a timber frame, beautifully sculpted walls and a reciprocal roof frame. It is, an inspiring journey to show just what is possible with these basic materials and when we work together to achieve our goals.
The students walk away with an ingrained knowledge of working with the earth and how to apply it in multiple ways to create a building that works in harmony with its surroundings. They learn about ecological house design, ancient building techniques from around the world and the effects our 'modern' building techniques are having on our planet and how we can respond to it. During such a short time we become a team, celebrating our strengths and diversity, creating connections and a realisation that anything is possible!
I am always blown away by the connections that are made in such a short period of time; we become a community, a tribe of like-minded people ready to be the change we want to see in the world, ready to build a better future!
